A Facebook feed is a minefield of potentially horrible photos. There are inappropriate memes, placenta “art,” horrible politics … and then once you’re past all that, you see that your friend’s new profile picture is a giant photo of her new boyfriend’s dick. Well, OK, that didn’t really happen, but it sure as hell looked like it did when this nice lady updated her profile with a photo of the most NSFW optical illusion you’ll ever see.

Reddit user Summerie was innocently looking around Facebook when she saw this as her friend’s new profile photo:

Well, that’ll sure make you do a double-take.

Summerie posted the photo to Reddit, where it appears to have become a pervy version of the Blue and Black dress debate, because about half the viewers saw Summerie’s friend grinning with a naked man sitting spread-eagled in front of the camera, while the other half of the commenters were like, “What’s going on? What’s everyone looking at? I don’t get it.”

Those people must have better eyes than the pervs like me, because even in the tiny form they recognized the photo for what it was: A lady sitting in her boyfriend’s lap with his hand on her knees.

I still have to stare at this and focus pretty intently on the hand to recognize it for what it is, but of course that makes me feel weird for staring so hard at his hand and trying to make it not look like a penis.

But now I’m in a turmoil. Did they do this on purpose? Are those grins happy grins because they’re on a boat and the weather is nice? Or are those grins sneaky grins about how funny it’s going to be when their Facebook friends are like, “Whoa WTF?!”

Even if the photo was taken completely by accident, which I think it probably was, then how on Earth does it wind up as a profile picture? As soon as it’s rendered all tiny for a profile photo, it looks downright pervy. And how many texts do you think this woman got the moment she put changed her profile picture? Well, that’s one way to hear from people.

Did you recognize the photo right away? Let us know in the comments.
