This Stupid Maternity Shirt Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things

What does every pregnant woman really want? A $50 t-shirt that basically tells someone to knock her out until she is skinny again, right? Isn’t that what you all want, pregnant ladies?

I’m a little surprised this is on the A Pea In A Pod maternity site and not some novelty crap site. This site is supposed to cater to pregnant women. What better way to cater to pregnant women than by fat-shaming them? I can’t tell what’s more ridiculous about this – the message it sends or the price. I’m going to have to go with the message. Don’t ever buy this for a pregnant woman unless you would like a foot planted firmly in your ass.

Pregnant women are not fat – they’re pregnant. Gaining weight during pregnancy is totally normal. But just in case you need a reminder of how huge and gross you are now that you are creating life, here’s another shirt that A Pea In The Pod offers:

I looked everywhere for the shirt that said, “You can never be too rich, too thin, or too not pregnant” but I couldn’t find it.

This is a major fail, A Pea In The Pod. Women have enough body shame associated with their pregnancies, weight gain, and post-baby body without a site that is supposed to be for pregnant women catering to these pressures.

Yuck.
