There’s A Brand New Bigoted Scouting Organization Called Trail Life USA

1012031_575432702515170_976984910_nThank goodness all those parents who were so disgruntled and furious after the Boy Scouts Of America finally decided to let gay kids join the group have a NEW alternate scouting group that their boys can join, called The Bigoty Non- Boy Scouts Happy Time Anti-Gay Bigot Club  Trail Life USA. This new group will allow gay members to join, but not like serious gays or out gays or any of those gays who flaunt their sexuality or kids who are not biologically male or who wish to dress and act like girls. It’s a scouting group for boys who are gay but who wish to hide their gayness and the other boys who hate gays, yay! From the Washington Times:

Trail Life USA’s goal is to counter the ”moral free fall” of the nation, and ”raise a generation of faithful husbands, fathers, citizens and leaders,” organizers said. Its other mission is to provide a robust, Christ-centered alternative to the Boy Scouts of America.

This is ‘Mericuh, people can start whatever little groups they want, to protect their children from whatever imaginary evils they are so terrified of corrupting them, but I’m not sure why they think having these ‘core beliefs” is going to protect their kids from anything. It’s not a guarantee their kids will be safe from pedophiles, it’s not a guarantee their kid will never make friends with a gay kid, it’s not a guarantee their kid will never experiment with their own sexuality, and it’s not a guarantee their kid will never “act like girls” and what, exactly does that mean anyway? How does one “act like a girl?” Baking a cake? Being scared of a spider? I wish Trail Life would clarify this. According to their website:

The basis for the program’s ethical and moral standards are found in the Bible. In terms of sexual identification and behavior, we affirm that any sexual activity outside the context of the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman is sinful before God and therefore inconsistent with the values and principles of the program.

Within these limits, we grant membership to adults and youth who do not engage in or promote sexual immorality of any kind, or engage in behavior that would become a distraction to the mission of the program.

We welcome boys whose parents are seeking a faith-based outdoor adventure program that places an emphasis on character development, leadership, and moral purity, and who aspire to live in accordance with the values expressed in the program’s Oath and Creed.

It’s basically bible camp outside, and just another scouting group I won’t let my own kids join. I guess I can look at it as a group of parents who are raising their kids to be the type of kids I don’t want my own kids having anything to do with.
