The View Goes Viral After Whoopi Goldberg Slams Meghan McCain On Air

Everyone loves Whoopi Goldberg, point blank period. But while Whoopi usually does her thang on The View without too much attention, the Sister Act actress is making waves on Twitter after a clip from her daytime talk show went viral. Yes, we said her daytime talk show, and we’re about to tell you why.

In the aforementioned clip, you can see Joy Behar, Sunni Hostin, Abby Huntsman, and Meghan McCain fighting to be the loudest during a conversation about respect for veterans. Meghan McCain claimed there to be “a trend in politics where people are criticizing veterans,” and tried to make the conversation about Hillary Clinton. While Joy and Meghan snipped at one another, Whoopi cut in to create a better dialogue on the talk show — even among people with differing opinions.

But when Meghan interrupted Whoopi as she tried to maintain order on the show, Whoopi put the 35-year-old daughter of John McCain in her place.

”Everybody just take a breath because now it’s becoming hard,” Whoopi chimed in while Meghan still refused to stop talking. ”Hold on, let me finish what I’m saying so I can just say everybody has something to say at the table. We really do want to hear from everybody, but we’re starting to do that thing,” Whoopi said while using her hands to show a collision and suggesting that people aren’t giving each other room to speak.

Meghan feigned she didn’t know what Whoopi was talking about and when the actress explained, Meghan said, “Well, it’s The View.”

Whoopi, who is the second-longest-running host of The View aside from Joy decided to tell Meghan what The View really is.

”You know what, let me tell you something about The View. This show has always had the ability to have different points of view which we respect around the table, and when we talk to each other we also exhibit respect,” Whoopi said while cheers came from the audience. “So when I’m saying to you, ”˜hold up,’ because we’re not hearing each other, I’m not trying to cut you off. I’m trying to get you heard.”

When Meghan continued to talk over Whoopi’s exclamation, Whoopi cut to a commercial — and longtime fans feel pretty certain she gave the political heiress a few choice words.

If it’s not clear already, Whoopi’s totally in the right. She’s got seniority on The View and Meghan McCain should show her some respect.
