The Two Pajama-Wearing Girls Busted Walking A Stolen Goat Deserve A Puppy

It reads like the introduction to a joke but the theft is no laughing matter in Mankato, Minnesota where the two stepsisters, aged six and seven respectively, were caught walking a stolen goat — in their PJs.

The Associated Press reports that a police officer spotted the girls at around 11:30 pm on a Saturday night, upon which the girls confessed that the goat lived in their bedroom closet. They admitted that they walked the goat nightly because their father didn’t know that they had the animal.

AP reports:

The unconvinced officer walked the girls home, where their parents explained they’d attended a birthday party at the Sibley Park Zoo earlier that day. That’s when they hatched a plan to take one of the goats home.

The goat has since been returned to the zoo but it’s still unclear how the two kids managed to spring the goat free. I suspect the assistance of the mother who, as suggested by AP, perhaps knew of the goat in the girls’ bedroom. Nevertheless, the girls’ dedication to walking the goat every night definitely proves them responsible enough for a puppy!
