The Best Picture Of A Mom Catching A Baseball Ever

By  |

Via SBNation, here we have the most awesome picture of a mom catching a baseball ever. Made all the better by the fact that the baby’s helmet almost works as a batting helmet. It figures that she’d beat out the Nationals fan in catching this, doesn’t it.

I’m trying to work on a caption:

“Juggling work, family, balls”?

Someone can surely do better.

Seriously, coming from a long line of females who love their baseball (until she died, my grandmother could give you the slugging percentage of any St. Louis Cardinal), this picture makes me so happy.

Mollie, you and I share a similar history here, although my grandmother is in love with the Tigers! She’s still praying that one of her granddaughters will name a child after Aurelio Rodriguez.

How do you know she’s not a Nats fan too? You had to go and ruin an awesome thing with a jab at another team’s fans? Lame.

It’s even worse — I live right near the Nationals stadium! It’s true that I’m a St. Louis Cardinals fan, but if they’re not playing, I root for the Nats.

I was actually just making a joke about how lax the fans are — seriously, if you go to the games here, a clutch catch in the stands is all too rare.

All right, sorry for being hyper-defensive. I will confess that the only foul ball I’ve ever “caught” (at Nats Park) first hit me in the stomach and then bounced into my cupholder. So maybe there’s more truth to what you say than I like to admit. In my defense, I was making an effort — but I have no idea how I missed catching it when it was that close to me.

    Peace out.
