Today In ‘What The Heck Is Wrong With You?’: Ohio Mom Helps Daughter Beat Classmate

woman arrestedToday in “What the Hell is wrong with you?”: An Ohio mom walked in to her daughter’s high school classroom and helped her little girl brutally beat another student. Police say that 31-year-old Precious Allen and her friend, 28-year-old Dawn Brunner were into the school by a student at the front door. The two walked up Allen’s daughter’s classroom, where mother and daughter proceeded to punch and kick another female student.

A Cincinatti police office described the confrontation like this:

“Some words were exchanged, and (the mother) told her daughter to ‘get her.’ Her daughter and the other young lady started to tussle with each other, and the mother … thought the other young lady was getting the upper hand. So Mom got involved and started punching the young lady and held her down while her daughter was striking her in the face with a combination lock she had in her hand.”

The classroom teacher, who tried to stop the beating, got a black eye while trying to intervene. The young woman who was on the receiving end of this force has bumps and bruises, but will make a full recovery. And mother, daughter, and friend have a whole lot of criminal charges to deal with.

Precious has been charged with felony assault and aggravated criminal trespassing. Brunner, who never joined in on the fight, was charged with criminal trespass. The 15-year-old daughter, whose name is not being released and will be charged as a minor, is charged with assault, felony assault and trespassing.

As my editor sadly, but correctly pointed out this morning, it seems these sad news stories are getting more prevalent. Mothers getting involved in teenage drama, and in some cases, even encouraging violence between young people. It is a disturbing trend to see emerging.

Just last month, there was a mother who joined her daughter in beating a 12-year-old girl. In Houston, a mother and father joined in to help their 13-year-old beat up another teen.  In Seneca last May, same story. Mom helps daughter beat classmate.

There has been a lot of talk lately about how to curb our violent culture. We’ve all been worried about how to keep our children safe. These parents who not only find violence acceptable, but encourage and help their children solve their problems through violence, they are a huge piece of the problem. And honestly, they deserve a lot more than jail time. They deserve to have their children taken away.

Precious Allen should not be allowed to further hurt her daughter, to further teach her that violence is the answer to her problems. And all those others who jump into these fights, who encourage them, they don’t deserve to be parents.
