Britney Spears’ Sons Officially To Have Step-Dad

Britney Spears, who recently turned 30 if you can believe that, has some big news. The former teen pop sensation is reportedly engaged to her long-time beau and former agent Jason Trawick.

Us Weekly reports that Jason asked Britney to marry him last night when the two went out to dinner to celebrate his 40th birthday. Britney gushed all over Twitter this morning about “a gift” that she been waiting quite a bit for, and now there are reports that the two plan to celebrate their engagement tonight in Las Vegas.

The couple have been dating for two years now, but originally met in 2006 when Brit was still married to the not so appealing Kevin Federline. Apparently Britney and Jason have been planning this “cement” to their families for awhile now as her sons, Sean, 6, and Jayden, 5, have really taken to Jason in a fatherly way.

Given that this is Britney’s third time down the aisle and that the pop sensation has been able to put some years behind her, perhaps this marriage will bode well for all parties — especially her little boys who are so besotted with their soon-to-be stepdaddy.
