Even after divorce or separation, children need to know that their parents can come together to support them. Throughout your children’s life, you’re going to need to present a united front when it comes to education, discipline and so much more.

Especially for newly separated parents, you need practice bringing the whole crew together without arguments and awkward moments. It’s inevitable for two adults who ended their relationship to feel a little tension, but trying any of these activities might help smooth things over.

Some general rules to help pick which activities work for full family togetherness, it obviously should be something that revolves around the kids. But you also want something that has plenty of action or distractions. Trips to the zoo or museums give everyone something to talk about outside of personal squabbles.
