This YouTuber Has Sex While She Was Breastfeeding and People Have Feelings About It
Breastfeeding can be a totally beautiful, totally awesome thing. Babies need to get fed, and while I’m all about fed is best, I’m also way supportive of all breastfeeding mamas. So when you see folks being public about their breastfeeding experiences, it’s great because it helps to de-stigmatize it (especially the feeding in public issue). That said, there are some things that maybe don’t necessarily need to be said. Privacy is cool, too. Take for instance this YouTuber who revealed she has sex while breastfeeding her baby. Yes, you read that right. She told all of YouTube about her experience and now she’s having to defend herself because, quite frankly, the Internet has opinions.
The YouTuber in question is Tasha “Spiritual Tasha Mama” Maile, and in the initial video she posted back in 2015, she made an…interesting confession: She has sex while breastfeeding.

“I remember sleeping with my ex-husband and my son was on me breastfeeding and we would have sex from behind or something,” she says in the video, making sure to add that she does not believe there’s anything “bad about making love at all, ever.”
As you might imagine, this is pretty taboo. Not the making love part, because sex isn’t dirty or wrong and we definitely need to shed those puritanical beliefs about it centuries ago. But having sex while you’re breastfeeding? It gives many folks pause. On the one hand, lots of folks co-sleep and even bed-share and have admit to having sex while their baby is sleeping in the bed. In fact, according to the Huffington Post, one poll in a Swedish magazine revealed one-third of parents had sex in the bed while their baby was sleeping on the same mattress.
But, again, one thing is to maybe build a barrier between yourselves and the sleeping baby. To have the baby nursing during the act? It’s a bit too close for comfort for some, and they left their opinions on Maile’s YouTube page:

So what do y’all think? Would you breastfeed a sleeping infant and have sex with your partner at the same time? Or would it be too weird or “creepy”? Personally, not my thing, but I guess if the baby is sleeping and not being harmed, and it works for them, maybe there’s no real reason not to. Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
