THE ROYAL BABY IS HERE, THIS IS NOT A DRILL!

What a wonderful day to have a royal baby! After what felt like the longest pregnancy in the history of pregnancies, Baby Sussex has finally arrived. And it’s a BOY! All those predictions were off, as it turns out. The palace confirmed that Meghan Markle went into labor on May 6, and just hours later, we got word that she had been delivered safely of a baby boy. So far, details are scarce, as Meghan and Prince Harry are doing things their own way. No baby parade on the steps on the hospital, no pictures until they’re ready. But we do know that Baby Boy Sussex was born in the early hours of May 6, and we know he weighed in at 7 pounds 3 ounces. Mama and baby are both healthy and doing well. We have a royal baby, you guys! Bust out the cigars and champagne!

The birth of the royal baby was announced on Meghan and Harry’s official Instagram account.

The caption reads, “We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz.
The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives.” It goes on to say that more details will be shared in the coming days. Right now, the Duke and Duchess and their new baby boy are resting and falling madly in love.

The palace released their own statement on the birth of the royal baby.

The Queen and all of the other royals, including William and Kate, have been informed of the birth. And Meghan’s mom Doria Ragland is currently with Meghan, Harry, and Baby Sussex at Frogmore Cottage. Harry came out after the birth to greet reporters at Windsor Castle and share the joyous news, and he looks SO CUTE AND EXCITED, we can’t even stand it.

We hope Meghan, Harry, and their new baby boy are resting comfortably and enjoying these first quiet moments together. And we’re so glad Doria was there with Meghan! Having a good support system during labor and delivery is crucial. But mostly we’re excited that Meghan is doing well and the royal baby is healthy. We can’t wait to see the little guy!
