Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Get Their Own Official Instagram Account
We’ve been all about ALL THINGS ROYAL lately, and we’re not even sorry about it! We’ll blame it on the impending birth of the next royal baby. We can’t even explain why someone we do not know having a baby excites us as much as it does! Royal news is so much fun to follow along with, even though it has zero to do with our own country. There’s just something so interesting about actual royalty. We’ve watched as Prince William and Kate Middleton fell in love and got married. We watched them welcome three sweet kiddos into the world. When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement, we were glued to the TV and internet for wedding updates. Their wedding, and subsequent pregnancy announcement, made us happier than we care to admit. Now, we get to follow along with them on their very own official Instagram account.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been included on the @KensingtonRoyal IG account since they got engaged. But the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are breaking ranks.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle can be found over on their very own official Instagram account, @SussexRoyal as of April 2! The announcement was made on the @KensingtonRoyal account, which regularly updates the public on royal business. There are posts about Harry and Meghan, Wills and Kate, the Queen, Prince Charles, and even outlying royals like Eugenie. But as of today, the bio of the @KensingtonRoyal account reads, “The official account of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, based at Kensington Palace.” So it sounds like Wills and Kate will be taking over the old account, and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will get a brand new account to fill with pictures of (hopefully!) their new little baby!
The split comes at the perfect time – Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are gearing up for QUITE the big year.

While the palace hasn’t announced Meghan’s official due date, she’s rumored to be due sometime THIS MONTH! And in May, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will celebrate their first wedding anniversary. But, as excited as we are for Harry and Meghan to have their very own IG account, don’t expect a lot of personal posts and rambling stories from the royal couple. They are still royals, after all, and royals play their cards pretty close to their vests, if you catch our drift. We don’t think Meghan and Harry went their own way to break with royal protocol; more than likely, the palace just wanted to put some separation between the Kensington and Sussex branches of the family. But we hope we do get plenty of pictures of that baby!
