Kate Middleton and Prince William Almost Certainly Cried While Taking These Cute Photos of George’s First Day of School

Time passes so quickly lately! It seems like just yesterday everyone was speculating about who would design Kate Middleton’s wedding dress, and yet somehow little Prince George is all grown up and starting his first day of school. It’s impossible, but there he is in his little blue coat with the plaid lining and elbow patches.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released the first photos of Prince George on his first day of nursery school at the Westacre Montessori School in East Walton, a tiny village near Anmer Hall, where the Cambridges live while not being fancy in London. (It is a giant Georgian country house in the way that Downton Abbey is a “country house,” so presumably also extremely fancy.)

George is two and a half, and will reportedly be attending nursery school for about three hours a day. He’ll get to play with other kids, and he’ll almost certainly love it. Prince William and Prince Harry also both attended Montessori nursery schools as children. George will reportedly only be attending nursery school here, and won’t be going to one when the family is in London.

Prince George is just so cute with his little blond head, and he looks just like Prince William did at his age. It’s hard to believe he’s already so big. It’s probably twice as hard for his parents to believe they were standing there taking these pictures of their son on his first day of school.

Do you think they cried? I bet they cried.
