13 Truly Memorable Maternity Poses To Make Your Pregnant Photoshoot Pop
I’m going to be honest here: I’ve never been a fan of maternity photos. Yes, I know it’s judgmental, but I’ve just never liked the cheesy, cookie-cutter images I’ve seen most people post. It seems like it’s always the same poses. Holding your hands like a heart over the belly. The daddy kissing the belly. The mama-to-be wearing a semi-tacky, flowing dress while standing in a field even though it’s probably hot and full of bugs. But there’s also some good ones out there, or at least, some interesting pregnant photoshoot ideas.
Just check out these memorable pregnant photoshoot images and you’ll see what I mean.
1. I Got This
OK, so I don’t normally do cutesy, but I kind of love how the dad-to-be is all, “Don’t worry, babe, I got this.”
2. Pin Ups
Alright, this retro-y, pin-up-esque photo is everything. The colors make everything pop and it’s totally not a cliche at all.
While this isn’t necessarily what I’d go for, who wouldn’t want to dress up as a mermaid for a day, pregnant or not? That bra top is absolutely gorgeous!
4. Color Me
This one is simple, and cute but not overly cute. Definitely not a common shot, anyway.
Another perfectly easy-to-replicate maternity shot. Totally dig the “Mother” sweater!
Mom or outlaw? Here’s another pin-up inspired shot, but even more creative.
7. Points for Creativity
OK, so I’m not entirely sure what is going on in this image, but I know I won’t forget it. Points for creativity and good use of contrast.
8. Stranger Things
I am ALL ABOUT including pop culture into your maternity shoot. Stranger Things pregnancy photos? Yes, please!
This Egyptian goddess themed photo shoot is not one you see every day. Plus it took me a minute to realize it’s all body paint!
You can always inject a little millennial-era comedy into your shoot.
11. Goth Glam
Long exposure can be your friend in a maternity shoot, like this one with a mama that is totally goth glam and rocking it.
12. Yogi Mom
Yogi mamas might want to incorporate a pose or two into their maternity shoot.
When all else fails, feel free to just keep it real.
