Adele Is Going To Get The Baby She Always Wanted

Well, back in February, Adele told us all that she was going to take some time off from music to concentrate on her personal life. She let us all know that she wanted to take four or five years off, “And then I don’t know what I’ll do. Get married. Have some kids. Plant a nice vegetable patch.” Well, she’s about to check one item off that list.

In a post on her website, Adele just announced that she’s expecting her first child with boyfried Simon Konecki. The short statement read:

Im delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together. I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx

Given the choices made in the last year by another musical superstar (Ahem Bey), it’s nice to see Adele take such a low key approach to sharing her exciting news. Of course, it seems very in character for the laid-back lady to release the message herself to her fans.

Her boyfriend Simon already has a daughter from his previous marriage, so I’m sure the couple is excited about adding to the family. Hopefully he’s busy pampering the mom-to-be and helping her plant that garden.

I realize that this is just a silly prediction, but I have a feeling that Adele’s pregnancy will be close to the opposite of what we’ve seen from many celebrities lately. I picture zero endorsements or branding tie-ins. I’m hoping for a couple cute quotes about the silly little details of pregnancy that every mom likes to complain about. And with such a personal songwriter, I have to admit that I can’t wait to hear the music she comes out with after becoming a mom.

All in all, I think I can speak for the whole staff at Mommyish when I say that we’re excited and sending warm wishes to the coolest mom-to-be on the block this week!
