Mom Dining At Pizza Joint Gets The Exact Opposite Of Breastfeeding Shamed

WOOHOO! I love this story, brb going to marry this story, brb going to find the waitress who did this and become her BFF FOREVER and ever and ever because holy hell this rocks. So get this, Jackie Johnson-Smith was eating at a pizza restaurant called Fong’s in Des Moines, Iowa and she was with her kids and she posted this on Facebook:

I have breastfed three children… I have breastfed them in countless of places both pleasant and unpleasant, discreetly and out in the open. I have gotten many looks and stares, but tonight erases any negativity I have ever received. I ate at Fongs for the first time tonight. Having a fussy baby I nursed him for awhile in the booth and eventually left the table early as to not disrupt the restaurant. The waitress gave this receipt to my husband. I was speechless and emotional. Although I don’t need a pat on the back for feeding my child, it sure felt amazing. It is amazing how we women can make each other feel when we empower each other.

How much do you love this? EeeeEEEEeeeeEEEEe! It’s so amazing to me because we always hear these terrible shamey stories about people getting all Breastapo on women who are doing something totally normal, feeding a hungry baby, and not hiding in a filthy restroom in order to feed their child. Has anyone ever eaten at Fong’s? I want to go to there. I want to give all my business to places that encourage and support and applaud women for doing something totally normal. Hurray and hell yeah for them. And for Jackie for totally making my day.
