Megan Fox’s Hubby Loves How Perfectly Reese Witherspoon’s Birth Eclipsed That Of His Wife

megan fox babyMegan Fox gave birth to her baby boy Noah Shannon in late September and none of use were the wiser until she dropped a statement about a year later (in press time). But while many of us in the Mommyish offices were thumbs-upping the new mother for not taking her baby on a Weight Watchers-sponsored tour of the States, Megan’s husband reveals that a big part of that decision actually came down to chance. Ah, the luck of the stars.

Daily Mail reports that Mr. Megan, Brian Austin Green, said that the couple owes their secrecy to Reese Witherspoon, who sucked all the air out of the celebrity baby news cycle when she delivered Tennessee Toth:

Speaking on On Air With Ryan Seacrest, Brian said: “We got really lucky. And I’ve been wanting to send Reese Witherspoon flowers for, like, a month and a half. ‘Cause she actually gave birth, I think the day before us in Santa Monica. We were lucky enough to go in at 2:30 in the morning to the hospital and nobody knew. We were there for two days… and we heard Reese was at her place and had a baby, and we got out of the hospital and nobody knew. We got home and thought, ‘This is unbelievable.’ Because we weren’t expecting to get away with it. So we just figured we would go with it as long as we could.'”

And go with it, the couple did. Clueing in the rest of the world nearly three weeks after the kid took his first breath. A far cry from live-tweeting the delivery but also a testament to how celebrity births have quite the tendency to overshadow one another. For these ladies, giving birth the same weekend as a Kardashian means you just got handed a sacred PR invisibility cloak, Harry Potter style. Who knows how many “It”s a girl!” People covers have actually afforded some limelight-saturated mothers a few weeks of respite with their newborn.
