Kristen Stewart Scandal: Rupert Sanders’ Dad Dismisses Cheating, Calls It ‘Nothing’

I, for one, am sick of this whole Kristen Stewart/Rupert Sanders cheating fiasco. For starters, I can’t help but notice that Stewart is bearing the brunt of the criticism. Clearly they are both in the wrong, but how come the focus is on Stewart and not the man who let down his wife Liberty Ross and, by extension, their two young children?

Second, we’ll never know what truly happened between the pair since we’re getting all of our info from the paparazzi (i.e., was it merely a kiss yes, still cheating, I know or were they fucking like bunnies? Or is this all one big publicity stunt?). Either way, I’m kind of over the whole thing. Or rather, I was over the whole thing until I heard what Rupert Sanders’ dad, Michael, had to say on the matter.

“From what I gather, nothing really happened and it is all a lot of fuss about nothing. I should imagine it was something very brief,” Michael told People.com. “She is a very pretty girl and when you work that closely with someone for so long, sometimes things happen.”

Uh, okay, way to justify it all! Look, I don’t disagree that it’s a lot of fuss about nothing especially as far as we, the public, are concerned. But buddy should have kept his mouth shut after that little bit rather than explaining how it’s totally natural for people to cheat when they work closely together especially if the girl happens to be young and hot. (Oh, so that’s how it works.)

Michael went on call his son “very honorable, hardworking and [a] dedicated father and filmmaker.” He also said Rupert and Liberty’s relationship will survive this whole fiasco: “This is nothing they will definitely survive all of this. It is all a lot of fuss about nothing.”

I get that a father wants to defend his son, I really do. But this Michael guy sounds shady. And kind of like a jerk. I think it’s the whole “she is a very pretty girl” bit that gets me most. Anyone agree?
