Kourtney Kardashian’s Gorgeous ‘Brelfie’ Will Make You Wish She Was Your Mom Friend
We posted recently about Kourtney Kardashian taking her sweet time sharing the first picture of her third child, Reign Aston. She also took some amazing topless pictures while pregnant with little Reign. Now, she’s posting a selfie to Instagram that will make you all want to be her mom friend. It looks like she’s pumping in a hotel room before a night out and it’s just too cute. Anything to normalize nursing gets a big thumbs up from me and this picture is not only great for breastfeeding moms, it’s downright adorable.
Here is the pic. Kourtney, clad in leather pants and shackled to her pump. She’s in Las Vegas and obviously, getting ready to go out for the night but first, she has her breasts to attend to. As someone who had to pump in a bridesmaids dress on two separate occasions along with several nights out, I can totally relate:
I love her faux sexy pose while hooked up to the pump. She has a sense of humor and isn’t afraid to show the world how she looks doing something millions of moms do every single day, usually, in the privacy of their homes or offices. She might be a rich and famous Kardashian, but she’s still a mother and isn’t afraid to show it.
For someone as image-conscious as a Kardashian, it’s admirable that Kourtney is willing to put herself out there looking less than 100% camera-ready and doing something that a lot of her fans might not otherwise see had she not shared it. Also, many complain about the Kardashian’s large social media prescence and saying they’re sick of seeing them but the fact is, millions of people follow them. That means millions of people saw this picture that made pumping look like no big deal and nothing at all to be ashamed of. If they’re going to be famous for their every move anyway, it’s nice to see Kourtney using that fame to promote the normalization of breastfeeding.
Of course, this is not what it looks like when most “regular” moms pump, but it still makes me happy to see Kourtney sharing her experience as a nursing mom. It might be a more glamorous version, but at the end of the day, it’s what so many of us have done for our kids. Whether we’re in leather pants ready for a night out or a tatterred robe praying for a few hours of consecutive sleep, we’re all in the same boat.
