Here’s the official announcement:

Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child.

The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news.

As with her first pregnancy, The Duchess is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Her Royal Highness will no longer accompany The Duke of Cambridge on their planned engagement in Oxford today. The Duchess of Cambridge is being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace.

According to the announcement, Kate Middleton is being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace for acute morning sickness. If you remember, her first pregnancy was plagued by with the same condition, Hyperemesis Gravidarum – which is a form of hell that some pregnant women go through that can cause vomiting and severe dehydration. Sorry, Duchess.

The new baby will be fourth in line for the throne behind Prince George, who turned one on July 22. The birth of the new child will move Prince Harry further down the line of succession. I don’t think he cares. He gets to have fun and party while everyone thinks about being royal. Lucky.

I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Princess Diana, so I will forever follow the news of her beautiful children — I can’t help it. I love the Duke and Duchess — they somehow manage to seem like such a normal, happy couple — which is pretty amazing if you think about the microscope they live under and all the pressure that comes along with representing the Royal Family.

Congratulations!
