Kate Middleton Bought A Blue Bugaboo, So Obviously They’re Having A Boy

By  |

51coJenipML._SL1000_I love speculating about the sex of babies! I do! I love it even more when parents just come out and tell you what the sex is, but that’s a whole other conversation. I’m glad everyone’s favorite Royal couple isn’t ruining months of tabloid speculation by revealing the sex of their baby. But Kate Middleton has confessed to buying a blue Bugaboo so she’s definitely having a boy, right?

To be fair, the couple has insisted that they don’t know the sex of the child. I’m always jealous of people who can wait to find this out. I can’t even wait to find out what I’m having for lunch today. I always thought it would be fun to be surprised about the sex of the baby. Actually, I was surprised by it. At the five-month ultrasound.

There was speculation about whether Bugaboo had gifted the blue stroller to the couple. Bugaboo says “no way” because we were all advised not to send gifts and Bugaboo does not tackily disregard people’s wishes. So yes, Kate bought the stroller herself.

I do love this couple and I think it’s pretty cute that they are keeping the sex to themselves. I know they say they don’t know the sex, but I imagine it would be necessary to keep some things to yourself when you are in the public eye. I’m going to just engage in my own fantasy that they know what the baby is and want to have a little private fun before he or she arrives.

I’d love to see a little girl riding in this stroller, too. Can we get over the whole pink and blue ¬†thing already? I think Kate would be quite a trendsetter if she turns her back on conventional gender color schemes. I can’t believe I’m even thinking about this so much. Sorry. I have Royal fever. I have since I watched Princess Diana walk down the aisle in that amazing train.

Maybe the blue looked best? Or she’s doing it just to psych everyone out? (If I was famous and pregnant, I totally would.) I definitely think that blue would not be as good a gender indicator as if she bought a pink stroller – girls seem to have more leeway in that kind of thing.

A small part of me is disappointed that they won’t be using one of those crazy fancy old fashioned basket strollers with lots of lace and Victorian tea stained colors…

(I know they’re unsafe, allow me my delusions of royalty XD)

I love them! But I’m also a re-enactor and a complete fop, and the kind of person who owns silver and polishes it.

What sort of re-enacting? When I lived in Virginia, we saw a lot of Civil War re-enactors. A. Lot. Once I was walking in our local national battlefield I encountered the re-enactment of the big conflict there. It was kind of cool, although I wasn’t up on my Civil War dialect….

American Revolution, but we’re piecing together some 1812 so that we can tag along and set up camp with family. My in-laws are an 1812 family, black swamp area on Ohio-Indiana. My husband is in the colonial militia, and I’m in the process of going from general towny to redcoat. It makes going to bed at night kind of funny.

Someone actually tried to give me a hand me down of one of those things. She said it was $2,000. I still said, “um no. creepy.” Also, can’t imagine how I would have lugged that thing up and down 3 flights of stairs.

She got it to match William’s eyes. (Dreamboat)

Or she likes blue, whatever. It’s not like the baby cares.

My guess? She wears a lot of blue, so she got it to better coordinate with her clothes. I can’t see her pushing a pink stroller anyway-much like myself. I have a three year old, and when she was a baby we got a green car seat, a beige stroller and I carried a brown diaper bag.

I bought a blue stroller when I was pregnant with my oldest for the same reason why I drive a blue car- it’s my favorite color. I didn’t know which gender I was having and had no trouble putting my DD in it after she was born.

Kate KNEW all along it was a boy!!! It is far better to be TRUTHFUL than to be known as someone involved in Deception!!!!!
