This Democratic primary is getting heated and celebrities are showing their cards! Around the same time that Ted Danson endorsed Michael Bloomberg for prez, Donnie Darko actor Jake Gyllenhaal is telling the world who he wants to see in the oval office: Senator Bernie Sanders. Oh, and he’s doing so via his cat’s Instagram page. God, we have no choice but to love Jake Gyllenhaal, do we?

Looks like Jake and his ex Taylor Swift have more in common than just the fact that he inspired basically a whole album of hers — they’re also major cat-lovers! Jake set up an IG for his furry friend, Ms. Flufflestiltskin (FLUFFLE STILT SKIN) and since he did, the page has garnered more that 50 thousand followers. Now that the cat is basically an influencer, she’s using her power for good — to get political!

The IG account posted a picture of Fluffle’s silouette on Bernie’s face on the TV, writing, “I’m feline this guy.” Then the cat’s owner (we assume) commented “furries for Bernie.” It appears that the comment has been deleted — probably because “furries” are typically people who subscribe to a very particular fetish.

Jake Gyllenhaal’s always been pretty political — the actor participated in the “Rock the Vote” campaign in 2004, campaigned for John Kerry when he was running for president, and has publicly slammed Donald Trump for his views about climate change.

”I had the privilege to meet President Obama,” he once told The Guardian. ”and he told me: ”˜You have a job as an artist to help people through difficult times, to illuminate things through art.’ He said: ”˜That’s your job.’ And my parents have always said that, too. And I’m sure you know it, because you seem like a very smart person who has done their research, particularly into tabloid research, which is obviously the most important of all research.”

Clearly, he’s illuminating things through the art of his cat’s Instagram page and we kind of love it. No matter who you’re rooting for in the democratic primaries, you’ve got to admit that this is pretty cute.
