Happy 7th Birthday! My Gift To You Is A Boob Job

Sarah Burge, the self-declared “Human Barbie” most famous for spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on cosmetic surgery, has reached a new low in parenting. For her daughter Poppy‘s 7th birthday, she has gifted her with a $10,000 voucher for breast augmentation surgery, reports UK tabloid Closer.

“Poppy begged me for a boob job, so I have her the voucher so she can have it after she’s 16, when it’s legal. If she develops naturally big boobs, she can have something else done with it,” Burge, 50, tells Closer. “I can’t wait to be like Mummy with big boobs. They’re pretty,” says Poppy.

Um, okay. Where to even begin with this? For starters, Burge and Botox Mom Kerry Campbell should be sharing a cell in Mommy Prison (imagine the bonding!). Second, even if this is nothing more than a publicity stunt, it still sickens me that any parent would involve her impressionable young daughter in this nonsense. Boob job or not, a gift like this is completely inappropriate for a 7-year-old. Any parent who doesn’t recognize that has a major screw loose.

Not that this is a judgement call on plastic surgery. If that’s your thing, power to you. But it should not be any child’s “thing” until she’s old enough (and, uh, developed enough) to understand what it truly means.
