Growing Up Meets Good PR: Lindsay Lohan Claims Boredom With Night Life

Lindsay Lohanlindsay lohanLindsay Lohan is slated to make a “comeback” this weekend with a much anticipated SNL hosting gig. And although the troubled young woman seems to be welcomed back into her professional life, she also wants to assure everyone that she is growing up with obligatory PR sound bites about how boring the party scene is to her.

The actress appeared on the TODAY show to give an exclusive interview which will be unveiled in its entirety tomorrow. But in a tiny snippet, the former child star tells Matt Lauer that she doesn’t get much enjoyment from hitting up the clubs:

“That’s not my thing anymore. I went out, actually, a few months ago with a friend. And I was so uncomfortable. Not because I felt tempted, just because it was just the same thing that it always was before. And it just wasn’t fun for me. I’ve become more of a homebody. And I like that.”

Perhaps nothing indicates growing up more than a distaste for smoky bars, loud music, and overpriced drinks. All that along with a new enthusiasm for furniture and home decor suggests that adulthood has truly arrived.

The starlet may truly be trying to get back on her feet following DUIs and the predictable substance abuse that plagues many kid actors.  Her return (or beginning?) to healthy living would certainly be applauded. But Lindsay is hardly your standard 20-something as evidenced by her child stardom and the parenting prowess of Dina Lohan. Unlike the rest of us, all of her personal realizations or epiphanies have to be boiled down to phrases befit for headlines. So while Lindsay may undoubtedly be trying to get her career back together, her PR team has given her just the right lines to convey to audiences that she is no longer the hard-partying kid.

Whether she is actually growing up, however, only future headlines will reveal.
