You Can Get Paid to Live on a Greek Island and Take Care of Cats

There are some things in this world that are pure perfection — fresh new babies, when a new season of your favorite TV show is finally available on Netflix, and cats. I don’t even care if this offends anyone but cats are the greatest creatures on the planet — maybe in the universe, I don’t know. I have always been a cat person and don’t understand anyone who says that they aren’t cat people because that does not compute with me. So I’m going to run on the assumption here that you are a cat person, my kind of people, and this Greek island and God’s Little People Cat Rescue may be your for real slice of Heaven.

If you’re looking for the career of a lifetime, to put your love of cats to work, God’s Little People Cat Rescue is offering the perfect position that requires living in a house on a slice of legit paradise. They posted a job offer on their Facebook page and it’s gone totally viral and once you dig in and read the details, it’s totally understandable why this may just be the best thing for you.

“A very special position and living circumstance on offer on a little Greek island called Syros (a small paradise no less!) for a mature and genuinely passionate cat lover who knows how to handle many cats and would love their company!” the listing reads.

It gets better… promise.

” I am looking for someone who can take over the daily running of my Greek cat sanctuary in my absence. You will have 55 cats in your care and need to be able to overview them all + feed and medicate (big added bonus if you’re trained vet. nurse!). As part of the job you’ll have a fully paid (incl. water & electricity) semidetached modern tiny house with it’s own garden (direct view to the Aegean Sea!) plus a salary.”

You get to live on an island with cats thanks to God’s Little People Cat Rescue.

The job goes on to say that the job is part time and includes living in the house for free — totally free, everything paid for, including all the expenses and veterinary care for all those cats. “We are located in a secluded nature preserved area which is very tranquil and quiet in winter time but busy during the summer. You’ll no doubt thrive best if you are the type of person who appreciates nature and likes tranquility – and rest comfortably in your own company. That said, you’ll never feel lonely in the company of the cats and you’ll be expected to live with a small handful of cats in your house.”

Seriously, your job is to hang out with cats. All the cats, any cats.

“Apart from feeding the cats the cats will also need heaps of love and attention. You will at times be expected to trap or handle a feral or non-sociable cat, so knowing something about a cats psychology too is important + cat-whispering skills should come natural to you,” the description continues to say.

“The job is long term but a minimum of 6 months is required with a 1 month intro at the beginning of October (you will be volunteering for the first 2-4 weeks but with free accommodation),” it continues to say. “The paid job starts on November 1st 2018. This seriously sounds like a dream. A legit dream that I wish I could jump on and it’s no wonder it’s gone viral. The photos make this place seem like it’s the most incredible place ever. You get to hang out with cats who make adorable faces and could probably work as a really awesome weighted blanket while you sleep and ahh, I can feel all anxieties just melt away.
