Breaking: George Zimmerman Arrested (UPDATE: 911 Calls)

George Zimmerman has been arrested and is en route to the Seminole County jail, according to Sheriff Don Eslinger.

From The Orlando Sentinel:

It’s not clear what happened or what crime he’s accused of committing, but just before 1:30 p.m., Eslinger confirmed that Zimmerman had been arrested today and was being driven to the county jail in Sanford.

He said more information would be available shortly.

WESH-Channel 2 reported that Zimmerman was accused of domestic violence by a girlfriend.

Police were called to his estranged wife’s Lake Mary home in September after a domestic altercation. His wife and her father accused him of threatening them with a gun. If anyone had any doubts about whether this man has a propensity for violence – those doubts should really be vanishing. Hopefully this time he was apprehended before he was able to hurt another innocent person – with the gun the county gave back to him. As in – the weapon he used to kill Trayvon Martin.

Update: Sheriff’s office confirms Zimmerman was arrested after the police were alerted to a disturbance in western Seminole County. From the Orlando Sentinel, “Zimmerman’s new girlfriend lives in that part of the county.”

Update: He’s being held without bail. He allegedly pointed a gun at his girlfriend, broke a table and pushed her out of her home.
