Mom Of 3 Erin Brockovich Apologizes For Drunk Boating, Says She Mixed Booze With Hunger

It’s that time of year when mothers load up their motor boats, throw back a couple of drinks, forget to eat and then fail sobriety tests. Even if they are awesome powerhouses like Erin Brockovich-Ellis.

The mother of three and obvious inspiration for the Julia Roberts flick was arrested on Friday for boating while intoxicated in Lake Mead near Las Vegas. The 52-year-old was reportedly approached by a game warden after he noted how much difficulty Erin was having docking her motor boat. He asked her to take a field sobriety test. Erin failed and was taken to the Clark County Detention Center. After posting $1,000 bail, she was released.

Erin has penned a public apology, basically saying that she didn’t plan her meals properly:

“At no time was the boat away from the dock and there was no public safety risk,” she said in a statement released on Sunday. “That being said, I take drunk driving very seriously, this was clearly a big mistake. I know better and I am very sorry”…She added: “After a day in the sun and with nothing to eat it appears that a couple of drinks had a greater impact than I realized.”
