5 Mommy Crafts You Can Totally Pull Off

I’m a photographer, a writer, and a generally pretty creative person. This all doesn’t seem to matter when I try to pull off cute baking or anything crafty. Are you a crafting failure, too? I think I’ve found some we can pull off.

1. Jet-Fuel Power Pack

Two-liter bottles? Check. Spray paint? Easily obtainable. Haphazardly cut fabric? No problem. I can totally do this.

2. Animal Eyes Halloween Wreath

You guys – how cute is this? Halloween is coming, and although I have never been a huge fan, my son’s birthday is the day after Halloween – so I have defaulted into the role of “fun Halloween mom.” He’s going to be three this year, so I think he is finally going to “get it.” I really want to start putting some effort into Halloween. I think this is a good start.

3. Apple Smiles

I can cut an apple into wedges. I can slather peanut butter on one side of that wedge. I can stick marshmallows on the peanut butter. I am a crafty genius. Okay, so I’m not a genius since I didn’t think of this – but these are some directions I can actually follow.

4. Puzzle Magnets

Buy a cheap puzzle and crazy glue some magnets to it. Your fridge just got cuter. Also, you can travel with these and a cookie sheet and your kids can make puzzles in the car. I am totally feeling this. I’ll mention that clearly you shouldn’t do this for very small children prone to putting things in their mouths.

5. Elmo Cupcakes

Am I wrong for thinking I could totally pull this off? I think I could do it – there doesn’t seem to be any real precision involved. Marshmallows and half an Oreo pretty much comprise the face. I’m trying this for my son’s birthday. I’ll let you know how it goes.
