Fake It ”˜Til You Bake It: The 10 Easiest, Most Worry-Free Christmas Cookies You Can Find

I come from a long line of amazing cooks. My grandmother, mother and sister all know how to make super yummy treats, amazing five-course meals, and basically every food you could ever crave. Me? I like to think that I’m just more of a utilitarian cook. As in, I just try to do what needs to be done. That’s why I’m oh-so-thankful for easy cookie recipes that don’t call for tons of flour sifting and candy thermometers.

I try to live up to my culinary roots, but the truth is that I’m just not a whiz in the kitchen. I still want to contribute to the holiday cookie exchanges. I still want to bake with my sister-in-laws and send out tins of cookies to my neighbors and co-workers. I just want to be able to do that without throwing my electric mixer across the room in frustration. Or spending a week and half to knock out a couple dozen perfectly beautiful pieces of toffee.

So, I’ve collected some of my very favorite recipes, along with some things that don’t even really need recipes. Peppermint bark, anyone? Here are the easiest of easy cookie recipes for all the other super busy, not-exactly-Top-Chefs out there like me.
