Donald Trump, If You Really Want To Donate Money To Needy Children, THEN DO IT
He did it again. Donald Trump made an obvious and pathetic attempt to gain publicity. Even worse, the media paid attention. After announcing that he had a huge bombshell to drop on the Presidential election, speculation was high as to what type of nonsense Trump would parade out and pretend to be outraged by. Don’t forget, he’s the guy who is still blathering on about President Obama‘s birth certificate.
Turns out, Trump didn’t have any new manufactured information or vitriol to spew. He decided that it would be a great idea to attempt bribing the sitting American president into releasing his college transcripts and his passport applications. In exchange for releasing this information, Trump offered to donate $5 million to a charity of President Obama’s choosing, like needy children in Chicago or cancer research.
Trump assured everyone, “Frankly, this is a check that I very much want to write.” He wants to help needy kids and those suffering from life-threatening diseases, guys. He just can’t right now because he doesn’t know what a man who graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard Law received in his freshman psychology class. Trump just wants the world to know what this obviously intelligent man received in statistics.
Sorry Donald. We’re not buying your nonsense anymore. If you really, really want to give money to charity, then you would just do it. You wouldn’t hold millions of dollars over the heads of the needy to manufacture a ridiculous news story. In fact, if Donald and the other millionaires who have invested huge sums of money into this election were really concerned with the direction of the country and the well-being of everyone in it, they would take just a small percentage of the money donated to political campaigns and give it to not-for-profits that desperately need it.
Personally, I think maybe we should all get together, donate what we can, and give those deserving charities $5 million without expecting anything from anyone. Maybe we should all reach out a hand to help those in our community without any fanfare or media attention. We’ll do it just because we know that helping our fellow human beings is the right thing to do.
There was speculation that Donald was going to reveal possible divorce papers never filed by the Obamas during a rough patch in their marriage. People everywhere were already collectively shrugging their shoulders and saying, “Married couples go through hard times? You don’t say.” Instead, Trump’s announcement is even more absurd.
Let’s all do ourselves a favor. Next time this man claims to have big important information to share with us, let’s just not pay attention. Let’s not speculate or worry. Let’s just roll our eyes and laugh at the sad man who withholds money from needy children in the hopes of scoring hollow and trivial political points.
(By the way, the fact that someone who is completely behind a candidate who refuses to release his tax records from before a time he was actively campaigning for President is whining about transparency is so laughable… There are just no words.)
