12-Year-Old Ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer Wins America’s Got Talent

The 12th season of America’s Got Talent wrapped up last night, and Darci Lynne Farmer has been crowned this season’s winner! Darci beat out thousands of other talented acts to make it to the finale. She and her puppets will walk away with a cool million bucks. They will also headline the AGT show at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas next year. Not bad for a 12-year old and some puppets!

It all came down to Darci Lynne Farmer and 10-year old crooner Angelica Hale.

Darci has been a judge’s favorite since her very first audition. Mel B. gave her the coveted Golden Buzzer, which catapulted her straight into the live shows. Amazingly, Darci Lynne has only been doing ventriloquy for 2 years! She got her first puppet when she was 10, Petunia the rabbit. Petunia and ventriloquy helped Darci Lynne combat her shyness. And just look at her now!

This year’s top ten was full of amazing acts, like runner-up Angelica Hale and singers Mandy Harvey and Evie Clair. Dog trainer Sara and her dog Hero and comedian Preacher Lawson seemed to be early front-runners, too.

But it was Darci Lynne Farmer and her cache of adorable puppets who won America’s hearts.

This isn’t Darci’s first brush with fame, and it certainly won’t be her last. Last year, she and her puppet made an appearance on Steve Harvey’s variety show, Little Big Shots.

Oddly enough, Darci isn’t even the first ventriloquist to win the show. During night two of the live finale, Darci was joined onstage by Terry Fator, who won season 2 of America’s Got Talent. Darci and Petunia and Terry and his puppet, Winston the Impersonating Turtle, performed “Annie Get You Gun”. We’re sure it was a highlight for Darci, and it only goes up from here! After winning his season of AGT, Terry went on to sign a 5-year, $100 million contract with The Mirage in Las Vegas. Daaaaaaaaamn!

Congrats, Darci! And best of luck to you! We can’t wait to see where you and your puppets go from here!
