Teacher’s Horribly Racist Comments Prove She Went Into The Wrong Line Of Work

firedNormally I am very reticent to advocate removing anyone’s source of employment, but teachers who make racist comments in class have no business teaching children. A North Carolina teacher reportedly told her students that she wanted to “kill all black people” recently, and if that’s the case then as far as I’m concerned they can go ahead and fire her now.

According to Raw Story, math teacher Cynthia Ramsey was reportedly chatting about her bucket list with some students in her classroom during lunch, and she told a student that if she only had 10 days left to live she would “kill all black people.”

That sounds so shocking it’s difficult to believe it is real. Kimberly Ashcroft, whose daughter was talking to Ramsey at the time, said she didn’t believe it at first either.

”She conveyed to me that Mrs. Ramsey had indicated that if she only had 10 days to live that she would kill all black people,” Ashcraft said. ”I was completely shocked. I asked her again, ”˜Are you sure that was what you heard?’ I could not have imagined a teacher saying that.”

The story sounds absolutely insane, but police say that other students in the room with Ashcroft’s daughter corroborated the story. Ramsey was suspended without pay, but it was just for a few days before she was back in the classroom.

Ashcroft said she was amazed and disappointed to hear that Ramsey was back at school so quickly. The school superintendent says the case is being investigated and the school will not comment on personnel matters while the investigation is ongoing. From the story so far, I can only assume the end result of this investigation will be as follows:

Nobody who makes those kinds of comments should be teaching children. If what Ms. Ashcroft’s daughter says is true, then perhaps it would be better for Ms. Ramsey to find another, more hateful line of work.
