Celebrity Parents Give Thanks For Their Children At The 2012 Golden Globe Awards

At the kick-off to this year’s Hollywood awards season, Ricky Gervais gave Natalie Portman some advice. After winning both the Golden Globe and the Oscar last year, Portman took a year off to have a child. This year, she wasn’t even nominated. Gervais’s obvious lesson here is that actors and actresses should never, ever put family first. I mean, duh.

Except not everyone agrees with Ricky Gervais. Alright, on most topics of conversation, no one agrees with Ricky Gervais. And plenty of Hollywood’s winners were out to prove that point, thanking their children for supporting them, dealing with them and inspiring them.
