Can Reddit Help This Kid Who Is Unintentionally Writing BDSM My Little Pony Fan Fic?!

What would you do if you discovered your daughter’s 11-year-old friend was writing a popular BDSM My Little Pony fan fiction? That’s the question posed by one mom on Reddit today:

Reddit-MyLittlePonyFic-Question

And yes – I’ve already tried to find ‘Ponies Enslaved’ online and had no luck. Good news though – there are like 20,000 My Little Pony stories on FanFiction.net, so get at it!

Before I dig into the comments, let me say this: I was writing and reading fan fiction in sixth grade, and you better believe it was straight up hot n’ nasty. I would swap stories with a friend, and every single one of them was about members of The (All New) Mickey Mouse Club getting it on. My pal’s finest piece of work was an epic, 70-page tale called The Wheat Field, about The Party’s Chase Hampton and DeeDee Magno losing their virginity in…well, you get it. We were 11-years-old, and while we weren’t sexually savvy we were hella curious. While it’s mortifying to remember, I do believe it was a healthy way to explore sexual situations we were in no way ready to actually encounter. I suspect this lil’ erotica author is in the same boat.

Luckily, Reddit users can be incredibly wise and level-headed, and lobbed some great advice this mom’s way:

However this person offered advice that sounds a leeeeeeeeettle too close to being a friendly, g-rated, online predator: Reddit-Answer-2

Other Redditers pointed out how awesome this mom is, to be so open with her own daughter about sexuality and the online world.

And finally, this person said what we’re all thinking (right?): that this kid knows way more about sex than Concerned Mom is giving him credit for, and that’s okay:

Reddit-Answer-3

Thinking of dealing with my kids’ sexuality in adolescence terrifies me, mostly because I know what a weirdo I was back then. At 11, my friends and I would hump our desks (seriously) and were masters at The Penis Game.  We also watched Pretty Woman every weekend and took notes. Weirdness aside, curiosity and creativity are wonderfully healthy. Who knows – maybe this kid will get a book deal some day. 50 Shades of Neigh, anyone?
