Bill O’Reilly Needs ‘I’m An A**hole’ Shirt After Saying Black People Need ‘Don’t Get Pregnant At 14’ Shirts
Professional douchebag Bill O’Reilly continues on his never-ending quest to be one of America’s most reviled humans by spewing more of his garbage to Martin Luther King III, the eldest son of Martin Luther King, Jr. O’Reilly has a history of saying things that make normal humans go “uhh….you’re kidding, right?” but this time, he has truly out-done himself. On last night’s episode of The O’Reilly Factor, the Fox host told Martin Luther King III ”” the eldest son of the slain Civil Rights leader ”” that instead of wearing ”I Can’t Breathe” shirts, those protesting police brutality should instead wear ones that say, ”Don’t Get Pregnant at 14.”
A lot going on here. First of all, at this point, I have to wonder- is O’Reilly just trolling us? Can a person really go on national TV and say to the son of Martin Luther King, Jr. that black people should wear “Don’t Get Pregnant At 14” shirts, as if that alone is the cause of any of society’s ills? If a 14-year old girl does get pregnant, black or white, it is not her fault and a crime because she is not old enough to give consent anyway. In O’Reilly’s fucked up brain, I guess a 14-year old is “asking for it”, right? God, I need to bleach my brain.
Secondly, what in the world does anyone getting pregnant at 14 have to do with what happened to Eric Garner? A man not being violent in any way who died at the hands of police who choked him to death, while repeating over and over that he could not breathe? I think those t-shirts are the perfect way to protest police brutality. Why is O’Reilly’s conclusion somehow that if black people were not getting pregnant at 14, things like Garner’s death would not happen? It is a thought process I cannot at all follow and I cannot believe he can say these things with a straight face.
O’Reilly’s full quote included more total garbage:
”You know what,” O’Reilly continued, saying what he believes the president should say, ”we fight the injustice, and we realize it’s there. But we love our country, and applaud the progress we’ve made, and here’s a pathway to success: Don’t abandon your children. Don’t get pregnant at 14. Don’t allow your neighborhoods to deteriorate into free-fire zones.”
Sure. Because parents of other races never abandon their children, right? And allowing neighborhoods to deteriorate into free-fire zones? Again, don’t white people shoot each other too? I know they do in my city. However, you don’t see any news pundits going on air saying that if only white people would stop shooting each other, police officers wouldn’t have to choke anyone out. I know I should not get myself worked up over what O’Reilly says because anyone with a brain knows that 99% of it is totally ridiculous but the fact is, many people do watch him and take his word as gospel. And that is a very damaging thing as far as hearts and minds in our country. He needs to think before he speaks because sadly, people are listening.
