Nothing Like Baby Blue Ivy To Bring Out The Sisterly Love tumblr lxgxlaFO5q1qboyk5o1 500 jpgSolange Knowles, Beyonce‘s little sister, tweeted earlier today, “Sometimes you just gotta eat a bag of Lays with your big sis,” alongside this ridiculously cute photo of the sisters as little girls. Solange, who became an aunt this past Saturday with the birth of her niece Blue Ivy Carter,  is no doubt feeling nostalgic. And who can blame her?

Based on the family’s public image, Solange and Beyonce are super tight. So tight, in fact, that Solange’s been busy tweeting up a storm this week in defense of her older sis. For those who don’t know, Beyonce and Jay-Z have been attacked big-time by the way in which they handled little Blue’s birth. For instance, they allegedly paid $1.3 million to rent out an entire wing of Lenox Hill Hospital and, according to reports, their private security guards prevented at least two new dads from visiting their own newborns in the adjacent NICU.

Whether or not these claims are true remains to be seen, but one thing’s for certain: Bey and Jay-Z are most certainly milking their new status as parents for all its worth. It’s interesting, actually, given that the world-famous power couple has managed to remain somewhat private up ’til now. Online and in real life, people are now accusing them as being narcissistic, self-entitled and “out of touch with reality.” (I personally blame their security team.)

And so Aunty Solange, herself mom to 7-year-old Daniel Smith, has taken to twitter to defend Beyonce and to share a snapshot of the girls in quieter times. Her tweets start off all loving and doting:

“The most beautiful girl in the world.”

“In love. So THIS is what Aunty-hood feels like.”

But quickly turn into this:

“I’ve been doing my best at keeping my mouth shut….but the ignorance is really sad and upsetting.”

“We are supposed to be super human and watch people we love get slandered, lied on, and ridiculed. It is one of THE hardest things to accept.”

“In any other workplace…if someone directly tells your mother or sister is a liar and a fake ect…you would naturally express yourself.”

“However, the pure happiness and joy I’ve witnessed and experienced helps me to keep my mouth shut.”

I’m kind of loving Solange right now.
