If You Signed The Petition About Blue Ivy’s Hair, You Need To Get A Life

If I hear one more thing about Blue Ivy‘s hair, I’m seriously going to freak out. She’s two years old. Do people have no shame? Don’t answer that. Some moron who thinks she knows how to care for Blue Ivy’s hair better than her parents started a Change.org petition. Change.org has officially jumped the shark.

As a woman who understands the importance of hair care. It’s disturbing to watch a child suffering from the lack of hair moisture. The parents of Blue Ivy. Sean Carter A.K.A Jay-Z and Beyonce has failed at numerous attempts of doing Blue Ivy Hair. This matter has escalated to the child developing matted dreads and lint balls. Please let’s get the word out to properly care for Blue Ivy hair.

Maybe you should worry less about the importance of hair care, and more about the importance of commas. It’s disturbing to watch a child suffer from the lack of hair moisture? No, it’s not. It’s not at all. Her petition seems to be picking up speed. A whole 20 people have signed it.

This stupid petition is a response to a shot of Jay Z and family getting off a plane that made it’s way to the internet this week. Here it is:

Adults on Twitter actually started chiming in with things like,

Can we get blue ivy some hair balls or sum’n? Barrettes? Blue magic? Edge control? Nothin lol??

Is BlueIvy’s hair starting to dread?

Yall gotta stop this. Nobody is saying BlueIvy’s hair needs to be “laid to the Gods” or has to have all these products in it. Comb it tho

Beyonce act like she can’t afford a hair stylist for Blue Ivy

We’re talking about a two-year-old. As The Root‘s Yesha Callahan points out:

Blue Ivy is 2 years old, and making a fashion statement is probably the furthest thing from her parents’ minds when it comes to their daughter’s hair. Who’s to say that they weren’t in the middle of removing braids from their child’s hair before the flight ended? Who’s also to say that maybe Blue Ivy was messing in her own hair? Also, maybe, just maybe, Blue Ivy’s hair is just the way her parents want it to be.

No kidding. I don’t think there could be a win for Jay Z and Beyonce here. If they had her professionally styled constantly, people would probably be saying things like, “Why bother with all of that? She’s two!” The fact that they’re letting her hair go natural is totally up to them as parents. Has anyone stopped to think that they probably love the way their daughter’s hair looks?

I’ve written about my son, his hair, and the reaction I get from some folks because I let it stay natural. This is nobody’s business. I don’t want to hear your hair care tips and I’m damn sure Beyonce and Jay Z don’t want to either. If you find yourself insulting a two-year-old – you have some serious issues.
