Bizarre Baby Mixup In Argentina Makes Me Believe Moms Have A Sixth Sense two 1382610674 74 134 205 46 275x200 jpgThis is such a totally bizarre news story. Two moms who gave birth in a private clinic in Argentina felt that something was off about their baby daughters, but it wasn’t until they met totally by chance at a newborn checkup appointment on the same day and started chatting that they became very suspicious. Moms are so weird! They both just felt something was off, one mom because the clinic insisted her daughter was born breech after it was delivered by c-section, and the other because her daughter’s birth weight wasn’t correct. From The Santa Cruz Sentential:

“I told them that could not be but they said I must have misunderstood. I never got any answers.”

Suspicion turned to near certainty for Gerbeno when, by mere chance, she and Tejada found themselves at the clinic for a pediatric checkup and started chatting.

Before long, they realized that the birth weights of their respective infants matched up.

While the moms were waiting for the DNA tests results to come back, they talked on the phone and online and swapped baby photos.

“I spent three weeks with a baby that was not my daughter but I gave her all my love and knew that the other mom would do the same,” Lorena Gerbeno told broadcaster C5N.

Gerbeno does not intend to pursue legal action against the clinic, but wanted her story to be made public.

Strange indeed. I am sure I would have felt suspicious too after the clinic had so many facts about my baby wrong, but it’s just so odd to me how they both happened to meet in the clinic and start talking, not knowing that each of them had the other’s baby. It’s almost as if something drew them to each other. Or else I am reading way more into it and forgetting how moms yammer in waiting rooms while waiting for appointments. Now I’m gonna be giving my own kids the suspicious eye, especially when they misbehave.
