Are Courtney Stodden’s Parents Proud That She Would ‘Study’ Her Husband At College?

Not much can be said about the parents of 17-year-old Courtney Stodden, who blatantly sold their daughter to 51-year-old Doug Hutchison in the hopes of furthering her career. But the young wife recently said that if given the opportunity to pursue higher education, she would “study” her husband. What a way to spend that tuition money.

Radar Online reports:

One highlight of the Q & A was Courtney’s response when asked what she would study if she wanted to further her education. “I would go to college and study all of Doug,” she laughed. ”All of his body, and all the elements within that. What they do and what they still do. It would be a lot of fun.”

I know that we’re supposed to interpret this young girl, her marriage, and even her comments to the press as deliberate attempts to get attention, but what parent wants to look upon a quote like that with their daughter’s name at the end? Mr. and Mrs. Stodden may see no harm in marrying their daughter so young, but shunning actual subjects to “study” one’s partner should make any parent question where they went wrong.

But, I suppose it’s no less damaging than saying your husband is your college.
