Horrible Daycare Breaks The First Rule Of Starting A Toddler Fight Club – Don’t

toddler fight clubTwo stories have hit the news recently of daycare workers encouraging the children in their care to participate in some kind of no holds barred, WWF-style fights, and video-taping them for their own amusement because they are monsters from the pits of a fiery and merciless hell.

Last month, three workers at the Hands of Our Future Daycare in Delaware (those future hands involving band aids and splints) were arrested after police discovered a cell phone video in which they encouraged two three-year-old to fight each other. They did watch out for the children’s welfare, though, as Fox News reported:

Police said in the video one child is heard yelling, “He’s pinching me!” A day care worker allegedly responded, “No pinching, only punching.”

So that’s nice, right? These daycare workers, by the way, ranged in age from 19 to 47. A 47-year-old woman, videotaping toddlers fighting. She has clearly done life right. To make things even more heart-breaking, if that’s possible, during the fight one of the kids ran to an employee for protection, only to have that employee turn them around and push them back into the fight.

All three workers were arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, assault, reckless endangerment, and conspiracy.

But just when we thought the world had no more space left for terrible awful childcare workers running fight clubs for babies, we were proven wrong by employees at Stepping Stone Daycare in Ohio (those stones being sharp and fist-sized). Two workers were fired this week after management discovered cell phone videos as well as videos on their security cameras showing their employees egging on a fight between two three-year-olds. Apparently the fight lasted for a few minutes and only ended when the boy involved walked away. The adults sat and videotaped it the entire time, with one of them only getting up at one point to get a closer shot.

One of the workers told police she didn’t try to break up the fight because she was worried she would get hurt. This is an adult who was in charge of three-year-old children. Amazing.

Stepping Stones immediately fired both workers and reported the incident to licensing.
