Want Some Random Kindness With That Burger? Pregnant Woman Gets Nice Surprise At Red Robin Restaurant

shutterstock_44204737All too often we hear the horror stories about people being utter jerks to pregnant women, the non-offering of seats on crowded trains, the losers who pass by them without opening a door, the random acts of rudeness that we hear constantly from women, pregnant or not.  I don’t think pregnant women are delicate little flowers, but I do think that this world can sorely lack manners and common decency on occasion, and I love when I hear about a human doing something nice for another human just because. Like in this case, where a woman who was overdue in her pregnancy went out to eat with her husband and her two-year-old toddler. From The Consumerist:

Jason recently took his very pregnant (actually overdue) wife and their 2-year-old son out for a meal at their local Red Robin in North Carolina.

”Once seated, a manager came up to us and started talking,” he tells Consumerist. ”He was extremely friendly and jokingly asked my wife if this was her last meal before heading to the hospital.”

The manager wished them well and went back to the business of managing his restaurant. But when the bill came, there was a nice note letting them know that the mom-to-be’s entire dinner had been comped.

Sure, the note reads, ”MOM 2 BEE GOOD LUC,” but who’s going to quibble over spelling and grammar when you’re talking about a free meal?

”It was a pleasant surprise and made my tired of being pregnant wife a little more cheery,” writes Jason.

How cute is that? If you click over to the website link above you can see the receipt for the bill, and the mom’s meal only came to $11.50, but places can’t buy this sort of good publicity, and coupled with the message left on the receipt it was just a cool thing to do. I’m not sure if there is a Red Robin in my area, I am totally going to visit one the next time I see one. I love giving my support to businesses that do stuff like this. And I read on their menu that they have something called “pretzel bites.” Mmmm pretzel bites. Mmmm random acts of kindness and pretzel bites.
