Mommyish Poll: Do You Talk To Your Kids About HIV/AIDS?

first aid kit redWorld AIDS Day is on December 1st and as we at Mommyish take this week to remember the remarkable progress science, technology, and awareness have made in battling this epidemic, it’s also important to recognize that taboos remain. While some of those in the Western world refuse to even get tested because of the stigma, countries that are ravaged by the disease in Africa face similiar problems.

Even though HIV/AIDS education has come lightyears since the 1980s, misinformation and myths about the virus continue to pervade — especially for young people. Although there is a lot more education accessible to Western kids these days about the risks of HIV/AIDS, what information they pick up up in the home is always the most effective.

So what, if anything, do your kids know about the virus?
