A Woman’s Selfie Taken While Her Sister Was Giving Birth Will Make You LOL
There’s really nothing like witnessing the birth of a baby. It’s a magical experience to be present when a baby takes its first breaths. But before that, there are literally hours of waiting while the mom goes through labor, and while it’s 100% hardest on the mom, her friends and family can get a little stir crazy. Some people pass the time with games or TV, while others snap photos. That’s what one woman was doing while her sister was giving birth, and she might have snapped the funniest selfie ever.
Photographer Kat Armendariz was hanging out in her sister’s hospital room on June 29, waiting for the main event. She started taking pictures and snapped a selfie right when her sister had a contraction. If there was ever a photo that summed up a sibling relationship, this is it.
The caption read, “Selfie!!! While my sister is getting ready to shove a baby out her vag! Love yewwww”

Kat uploaded the image to Facebook and Imgur, where it instantly got a lot of attention. Comments ranged from, “This is hands-down the best picture I have ever seen!” to “Lmao best selfie I’ve seen in a while. Frame this and give it to her next Mother’s Day.” and “This is hilarious and you are cruel and funny. Bless you.”
Of course, because it’s the internet, she also got a lot of comments deriding her decision to take a selfie at that moment. “No offense…but kind of a dick move,” read one, while another said, “Clearly she didn’t want you to take this picture, OP, this was not cool.”
Luckily, Kat’s sister, Kimberly, has a sense of humor and didn’t mind the photo in the slightest. Kat told Mashable, “She wasn’t in too much pain at first, so she thought it was pretty funny. I told her I was going to do it, she just started the oxytocin and the labor pains began almost instantly. She started to feel it and right when she was like, ‘Oh my god I can’t take this,’ I took the photo.”
Kat, who has five kids of her own (including twins), isn’t worried about her sister exacting revenge. As she said in the comments on Imgur, ” I have 5 my tubes are tied. I DID MY TIME!”
