Koa Beck, Editor-in-Chief – Koa has been with Mommyish since the site’s launch in April 2011, first as Deputy Editor. She has appeared on Good Morning America and CNN discussing the sexualization of girls.
Eve Vawter, Associate Editor – Eve is a 42-year-old mother of four who lives in the South alongside a cat named Godzilla, a dog named Murdoc and her wonderful husband. Her work has appeared in XOJane, Hello Giggles, MsBehaved, as well as numerous print publications, and she is currently writing her first novel. When not writing, she enjoys making bespoke confectioneries for fancy events, test driving mascaras, reading, watching movies, playing with her kids, and escaping to London.
Carinn Jade, Contributor - Carinn is a lawyer, yoga teacher, mother of two, and freelance writer/blogger. Her parenting essays have been published online at the New York Times Motherlode and in print in the Life Well Blogged series. She is a regular contributor here and on Moonfrye (aka Punky Brewster’s blog). Carinn hates writing about herself in the third person, but she wanted me to tell you she loves beer (not wine) and tea (not coffee) and being a contrarian (sometimes).
Maria Guido, Contributor - Guerrilla Mom aka Maria Guido is a freelance writer/blogger attempting to raise a toddler in the most expensive neighborhood in Brooklyn, with no family in state, no nanny, and no savings account to speak of. At least she stillhas her (somewhat wicked)sense of humor.
Rebecca Eckler, Contributor – Rebecca is one of Canada’s most well known journalists. She is the author of eight books, including a trilogy of mommy memoirs: Knocked Up!, Wiped and Toddlers Gone Wild. Her most recent books are How To Raise A Boyfriend and The Lucky Sperm Club. Rebecca writes for numerous publications and lives in Toronto with her daughter Rowan. She loves watermelon.
Amanda Low, Contributor – Amanda lives in Missouri with her husband and young daughter. Her fiction and nonfiction have appeared all over the interwebs. In addition to writing, she paints and dabbles in sewing. She’s also one of those freaky lefties, which, according to her husband, “explains a lot.”
Gloria Fallon, Contributor - Gloria is a writer who contributes to WitStream.com, blogs for “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon,” and has written for numerous magazines and websites. She is co-author of the humor book I Hate This Place: The Pessimist’s Guide to Life. She thought the “chardonnay in sippy cups” trend was a lot of fun. Gloria lives in New York with her husband and six-year-old twins. She would love a dog, but can’t commit.
Kristin Iversen, Contributor - Kristin lives in Brooklyn and is a writer and mother of two boys. She also has a dog and knows that, while the boys are hers for a little while, the dog will be hers forever. She loves them all a lot. She is an editor at Brooklyn Magazine and a contributor to the literary website The Nervous Breakdown. She is figuring a lot of stuff out as she goes along.
