Let’s Hope Hollywood Doesn’t Glamorize The Rapists In The Stuebenville Vs. Anonymous Movie

Let's Hope Hollywood Doesn't Glamorize The Rapists In The Stuebenville Vs. Anonymous Movie

It was a huge case, politically charged, and Anonymous is an inherently sexy subject matter, they are mysterious, they are interesting, and in my opinion, without their work, and the work of Alexandria Goddard this case would have never made headlines like it did, never went to court, and most importantly, never opened up a worldwide dialogue about rape, rape culture, consent and how not to treat a drunk girl at a party. Horrifying du Pont Heir Case Proves The Affluenza Defense Works For Baby Rapists, Too

Hope you had a great weekend, because I am about to destroy your faith in everything – and probably send you back to bed. A wealthy Du Pont heir was sentenced to probation for raping his three-year-old daughter, because the judge thinks he “will not fare well” in prison. Since when do we care about that? The guy isn’t old or dying – he’s a child rapist. More »

Someone Shoud Tell This Judge Rape Victims Are Victims, Including Those With Down Syndrome

Someone Shoud Tell This Judge Rape Victims Are Victims, Including Those With Down Syndrome

The rape of an 89-year-old woman is practically dismissed by caregivers because she is a “flirt.” A victim with Down syndrome didn’t act enough like a “victim” to allow a judge to let a guilty verdict stick. If anyone ever has a problem understanding why rape jokes aren’t funny, or why we demand that the effects of our rampant rape culture be taken seriously – they should just read these reports. More »

Montana Prosecutor Responds To Sexual Assault Of 5-Year-Old Girl With ‘Boys Will Be Boys’

Montana Prosecutor Responds To Sexual Assault Of 5-Year-Old Girl With 'Boys Will Be Boys'

The Department of Justice sent a letter to the Missoula County Attorney’s Office in Montana last Friday, alleging that it has found “substantial evidence” the County Attorney’s response to sexual assault discriminates against women. If what the DOJ alleges is true, this is some of the most disturbing stuff I have read in regards to the handling of victims of sexual assault and their assailants. More »

Woody Allen Claims Dylan Farrow Says He Raped Her Just So She Could Get Some Ice Cream

Last night Woody Allen wrote his own open letter to The New York Times in regard to the sexual abuse allegations that were posted in The New York Times from Dylan FarrowIt’s interesting that this article was posted on a Friday night, sort of an odd time considering the majority of people in America don’t spend a lot of time web surfing right at the start of the weekend, and what’s even more bizarre is that his letter is just so scathing and ugly towards Mia Farrow, it reads more like hate mail than anything that would put the public’s mind at ease towards whether or not he actually sexually abused his daughter. Suspect In Daisy Coleman Case Charged With ‘Child Endangerment’ Not ‘Rape’

Suspect In Daisy Coleman Case Charged With 'Child Endangerment' Not 'Rape'

As if it weren’t enough that a 14-year-old girl had been raped with more than enough evidence to secure a conviction – a case that was unbelievably dropped by the prosecutor. As if it weren’t enough that her and her family were then basically ran out of town for daring to seek justice. As if it weren’t enough that we just learned last week that she had been hospitalized with possible brain damage after a suicide attempt. Today we learn that the case that has had all of us shaking our heads in confusion and rage has ended with a guilty verdict. But the suspect has not been found guilty of rape. He was able to plea down to a misdemeanor child endangerment charge. More »

Steubenville Rapist Released From Juvy After An ‘Unfortunate Set Of Circumstances’ He Committed Known As Rape

Steubenville Rapist Released From Juvy After An 'Unfortunate Set Of Circumstances' He Committed Known As Rape

Rape is NOT a circumstance, it’s a choice. If a circumstance is a fact or condition related to an event, what Madison is basically saying here is that rape was just a natural outcome of encountering a teenage girl puking on herself and passing out. The circumstance is not to help her and get her some water and maybe make sure she gets home OK, according to this the circumstance is to rape her. More »
