I don’t understand the mentality behind feeling like you need to bring a gun to a parade to honor Mother’s Day but that’s exactly what happened yesterday in New Orleans when three people opened fire on a crowd and ended up injuring at least 19 people. I’m a mother, mothers are my people, in my world you don’t mess with mothers and children and this entire thing infuriates and saddens me beyond belief. I would go to a Mother’s Day parade. My husband is a registered Democrat, but actually quite conservative. I’m a libertarian. But our kids, ages 3 and 2, are apparently going to be Republicans. How do I know? It’s science!
