Steve Harvey Started A Dating Site For Women Who Like Lying And Stereotypes
Single ladies everywhere, rejoice! Steve Harvey started a dating site — all of your worries are over! It’s called Delightful, and all you have to do to use it is turn off the part of your brain that actually thinks logically, and believe all his stereotypical garbage advice is true. Then you can hopefully find a man who wants to date you! Yay!
Harvey explained the necessity for his new site to Forbes. Harvey believes women are “wired differently.” Women don’t want to date! They want to settle down and get married as soon as possible.
Internet dating is great for people interested in going on a lot of dates ”” which means, says Harvey, that it’s great for men. ”The one thing I know about women is women don’t really want to just date,” he says. ”They want to date with the hope that it leads to a relationship.”
Men are more interested in playing the field, he believes. ”A man doesn’t have any problem at all dating several or a wide variety of people until he finds the right one,” he says. But women, as a rule, don’t want to do that, and the reason is scientific: ”A lot of women have that biological clock that ticks in them.”
So basically, Harvey figured out how to take the most stereotypical, unoriginal ideas about women — and get paid to promote them.
I’m not quite sure when or how it happened, but someone told Steve Harvey he had some insight on the female brain, he believed that person, and all hell broke loose. Have you ever watched the Steve Harvey show? Spare yourself. I’ll find you a snippet that will sum it all up:

Don’t tell the truth, ladies! Lie. Lie like a rug. Hold your truths over your suitor’s head to keep him “working.” Oh, also — don’t have sex for 90 days. That wasn’t just a movie plot – he actually believes women should refrain:

He compares adult relationships to “jobs.” He says, “you had to stay on that job for 90 days before that company gave you benefits.” Get it ladies? You’re the job. And your man has to work on your for 90 days before you give him the “benefit” of sex. I just threw up in my mouth.
In reality, Harvey is promoting archaic stereotypes that hurt women. Perpetuating the idea that a woman is an object to be earned, also perpetuates the very dangerous notion that they are property to be owned. Sex with a romantic partner is not the Holy Grail. It’s a normal exchange of intimacy. There’s nothing healthy about making sex akin to currency in a relationship. Perform well – and you’ll be paid! With sex! Awesome!
The first time I realized what a hack he was, I was watching an episode of The Steve Harvey Show (no idea – don’t ask why), and he started berating a woman for having sex on the first date. He would never do that to a man. Never. He talks down to women like they are children, and for some reason — they thank him for it. It’s baffling.
He tells Forbes he believes he’s starting a dating site that is more “love oriented.” Yes. True love is totally based on building a relationship on a foundation of lies, stereotypes, and withholding sex. How romantic.
