Prince William Just Revealed Prince George’s Favorite Movie, and It’s Perfect

Prince George is a totally normal four-year-old, which means he loves Disney movies and cartoon musicals. And Prince William recently revealed his son’s favorite movie, and it’s perfect. Prince George’s favorite movie is The Lion King.

This scoop came from a little boy who met Prince William on a train ride recently. The little boy was given the opportunity to ask Prince William some questions, and he is showing some exceptional journalism instincts, because he asked Prince William what Prince George’s favorite show is.

“He quite likes The Lion King, we’ve watched that a few times,” Prince William explained.

If Prince George is anything like the preschoolers I know, that means he definitely dances around the halls of Kensington Palace singing, “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King.” The woman seated with Prince William and the young interviewer suddenly started grinning during the interview. She was probably visualizing it too.

The video was posted by Rhiannon Mills of Sky News, who wrote “We should employ this kid @SkyNews. He got Prince William to reveal that Prince George likes to watch The Lion King.”

Prince William also said Prince George likes to watch Octonauts, and that he likes “Lego movies.”

Prince George has pretty good taste in preschooler cartoons. His parents, Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge formerly known as Kate Middleton, say they try to keep him away from screen time as much as possible. But they don’t seem to be succeeding at screen time limits any better than the rest of us.

“Trying to keep him off the television is hard work,” Prince William sighed.

It’s so true. If you let a three-year-old watch a video of someone singing opera on YouTube, the next thing you know they will have managed to convince you to let them watch 16 hours of Doc McStuffins. I wonder if Prince George does the thing where he says he wants to watch one specific episode of Octonauts, and then three minutes before it is over says, “I don’t want to watch this one. I want to watch the other one.”
