Pink Named People’s ‘Most Beautiful’ in 2018

See, now this is a decision I can get behind! After People Magazine totally whiffed the Sexiest Man Alive selection, the pressure was on to make things right. But this year, the magazine changed things up a bit. Rather than name the Most Beautiful Woman, as they have in years past, People changed this year’s issue, and named it The Beautiful Issue. And their pick in the top spot? Singer, performer, mom, and all-around badass Pink!

Editor-in-chief Jess Cagle explains the evolution of the issue, saying, “Over the years, the name of the issue has evolved (”˜50 Most Beautiful,’ ”˜Most Beautiful Woman,’ etc.), but the words ”˜Most Beautiful’ have always been part of the title. This year we’re renaming it ”˜The Beautiful Issue’ ”” to make clear that the issue is not a beauty contest. Nothing else has changed.” The staff at People wanted the issue to highlight the men and women “of all shapes, sizes and colors, and it will celebrate the most beautiful qualities of all: strength, humanity and artistry.”

And who better embodies those qualities than Pink?

People describes Pink as “a woman who checks all those boxes. She’s a performer, mother and role model whose honesty, humor, confidence and sheer star power make her one of the most beloved and fascinating entertainers on the planet.” In the issue, which hits newsstands on Friday, Pink talks about her life as a mom, and it’s lovely and hilarious. She says, “The thing about parenting is you never know if anything you’re doing is working. That’s been the most humbling thing for me. In my head, I sound amazing and then I turn around and her eyes are completely glazed over. I have no idea. We’ll see.”

This was a good choice! Pink is amazing, and she definitely deserves the accolades.
