It’s been nearly a decade since the wildly successful pop sensation Michael Jackson passed away from cardiac arrest at age 50. With his unique sound and incredible talent, the King of Pop was undoubtedly one of the most influential people of the 80s and 90s. But even stronger was his influence on his children, and most notably on his daughter, Paris. The singer’s daughter was just a child when Michael passed. And today, Paris Jackson posted a touching tribute to her late father, via two Instagram posts. It’s clear the young model is missing and remembering him fondly on his birthday.

In her first post, Paris Jackson posted a photo of herself as a young child giving her father a kiss.

The image has received over 220k likes in just 10 hours, though Paris keeps the comments off her Instagram page these days (can’t say that I blame her).

“birthday wishes to the love of my life, the one person who showed me what passion truly was, the one that gave me solid morals to live by and how to dream,” Paris’ post begins.

“i will never feel love again the way i did with you. you are always with me and i am always with you. though i am not you, and you are not me, i know with all of my being that we are one. and our souls will never change in that way. thank you for the magic, forever and always.”

She then posted a second image, which has since been deleted, of herself at the MTV Video Music Awards from this past weekend. For those that saw the image,  if you looked close enough you can see the superimposed, faded image of her father giving her a kiss on the forehead.

Clearly, Paris still holds her father in her heart.

Additionally, she posted a series of tweets on Twitter after users came after her for a speech she gave at the VMAs. Her speech advocated for zero tolerance against the rise of bigotry currently happening throughout the United States.

She even has a message for those who claim to be fans of her father’s but are berating her for honoring his message of peace and love.

While the pop singer’s life did take some problematic turns over the years, much of his music did advocate for peace, and it’s clear his daughter is taking the reigns to continue spreading the message in her own way.
